True Cost does not collect, store, or share personal information. There are no accounts, ads, or analytics.

Your rates

The exchange rates you save are stored only on your device. They are deleted if you delete the app.

Photos

Photos you take or choose for price scanning are processed on your device to find prices. They are not uploaded or saved by the app. Camera and photo access are only requested when you use the scan feature.

Exchange rates

When suggesting an amount, the app requests today's rate for the two currencies you picked from ExchangeRate-API. Only the currency codes are sent.

App updates

The app checks Expo's update service (expo.dev) for new versions. That service receives standard technical information such as the app version and device platform.
